I am so excited you visited today! It is my hope and my prayer that EVERY courageous conversation you choose to join me in leads you to a better understanding of you, your life, and your world!
Listen and be encouraged. Receive and be blessed!
The first time I was asked this question, I must admit, it took me by surprise. I was a 30-year-old woman sitting in a community college Black studies class and I had NEVER stopped to answer this question. Who am I? What I’ve grown to realize is because I did not know the answer to this question, my life had no direction and I had no vision. I was living in a marriage that was failing but I did not yet know it, I was having my third child, on social assistance, and without a plan for my life. In confronting the question, “who am I,” I went on a journey to myself!
I wish I could tell you this journey was fun. It wasn’t, but it has TRULY been adventurous. As an adult child who has buried both my mother and my father, I have gone from being a divorced mother of 5 children and a survivor of emotional abuse to a person who has deep self-awareness. I have discovered self-love, self-care, and self-kindness. I have survived some of life’s most tragic moments and redefined my pains into personal development and teachable moments. What I know to be true is that NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU IN LIFE, YOU CAN MAKE IT AND YOU WILL BE ALRIGHT!!!
I am more convinced now than I’ve ever been that WE NEED EACH OTHER! We need to create safe spaces for people to be able to be truthful and real WITH THEMSELVES! The rule of my Sistah-circle is “No judgement, no heat,” each of us must feel safe in order to share our heart. That is why I’m here. I want to share with you what I’ve learned from my own life’s journey trusting that you will get to catch glimpses of yourself. It is my hope that by sharing my heart with you it will open your heart to yourself and others. Life doesn’t come with a manual – truly it is on the job training! Here is the bottom line...life is hard, but by speaking the truth, it can be handled!
I look forward to you and me taking this journey together into the real places of your heart as we talk about life, love and find our liberty!
Blessings on you!
